Is it tacky to use silk flowers at a wedding reception
instead of real flowers?
A wedding should be all about you and your likes and dislikes. Most
people find that real flowers are more aesthetically pleasing and also
offer a nice aroma within a room; however, silk flowers are becoming
used more often. Silk flowers may not be scented but they can be kept
forever, if smell is a big factor you may consider purchasing candles
or incents. Tacky is a word that is dependent on taste; for some artificial
flowers may be tacky, for others they may be a great investment that
will be around forever to help them remember their special day.
I live in a desert climate but want a tropical wedding, how
can I find exotic flowers?
If you are looking to create a tropical paradise for your wedding day,
visit your local floral shop and see if they can special order specific
types of flowers. If this is not an option, I suggest using the Internet
to find flower shops that will ship their products. Floral shops can
be researched online from the privacy of your own home. You will be
putting a lot of trust into the flower company to produce on your special
day and that is why I recommend signing a contractual agreement ensuring
the quality of the product.
I am helping throw a surprise birthday party and was put in
charge of floral decorations but I don’t have the slightest clue
where to start, any ideas?
I suggest that if you have access to money that you hire a florist to
complete your project. They are skilled in how to care for flowers and
also how to arrange them. They know which flowers look good together
and which do not, floral arrangements are an art form. However, if you
are strapped for cash, I suggest purchasing floral magazines for ideas
and then jumping into the designing stage by buying the flowers, containers,
and other accent pieces.
